The Victoria Avenue Church held a Block Party on May 28 and raised over $1000 for a local charity. The 3rd Annual event supports the Saskatoon Crisis Nursery down the street from the church.
We blocked off the street and provided a portable rock wall, bouncy castle, face painting, BBQ and much more for the entire community.
Pastor Julio Davila said that “our church is not here to serve itself, but to serve the community".
After seeing Facebook Ads for the event one family travelled across town to attend the event.
A friend of Nicole Davila who was invited to the event commented that "church used to be a place where the community met their needs". Victoria Avenue Church is seeking to return the church to this rightful place as a community support for our neighbours.
